BIG NEWS FROM WILD EYE PUB!

Aug 7, 2026

Dear Friends of the Pub~~

As you may have heard, in July we went into escrow to sell our building and property. This past week, building inspections were completed and final agreements were made. With the pending sale now confirmed, we can share that Wild Eye Pub will close its doors by Sept 20.  We originally entered escrow as buyers in September, 2016. Closing this escrow - now as sellers - in September, 2026, feels like a fitting bookend to this 10-year adventure.

Looking back over these 10 years of joy, and hurdles, with nearly 1800 diverse events and countless friendships made, it is with both sorrow and growing relief that we'll now retire from pub life. We look forward to reclaiming our other lives, with time for family & friends, deferred home & garden care, and long overdue travel, topping the long list of "What now?" We look forward to seeing you out beyond these 4 walls, at community events & concerts that other people organize. :)

Here are some newsy bits about what's happening over the final (44!) days of the Wild Eye Pub:

  • Last Shows“ series: We are booking many of the wonderful artists we’ve hosted over the years, for one more show. Our very full, final current "events calendar" is popping! See it here: wildeyepub.com/events. A couple more "last shows" may still be added - check our up-to-date live Google calendar by scrolling to bottom of the events page, above.

  • NOTE: NEW HOURS: To squeeze in as many bands as possible before the end, we've hijacked our usual T-W weekends. So, we may have events 7 days/week, and we will open only when we have events.

NEW BUSINESS HOURS FOR THESE FINAL FEW WEEKS:

Open at 4pm  - IF there’s an event on that day (or earlier for special/early events)

Closed on days with no public event planned

  • Our wonderful staff will be here with us until the end. Several are looking for new positions in the area: in kitchen, bar, serving or special event support. Please share opportunities you know of, with us or directly with them.

  • RSVPs still appreciated! We’re seeing higher attendance at these final shows. Yay! Please get tix and/or make reservations, when possible, to help us plan to prep fresh food, staffing and space for 30, or 80 people!

  • The buyers have creative, ambitious plans, still forming. They may offer local history-themed spaces, with fresh food to go, milkshakes (with house-made ice cream!), and more. There MAY be live music in the future.

  • Type 47 Liquor License for sale: available after 9/20. The buyers won't need it, so once the sale is completed, it will be up for sale, for use in Nevada County.

  • GIFT CERTIFICATES: We're still selling them - good until 9/19. And if you have older ones, dig them out and use them up by 9/19!

  • SCHWAG: We have some pub logo pint/shot glasses & coffee cups, and are now printing extra pub-wear to add to our rapidly dwindling supply. Get 'em while you can! Yes - you can use gift certs.

  • Silent auction and estate sale  - 9/12-18: For our final week, we'll have some favorite decor, treasures and other pub goods on display inside, for our auction/estate sale. Before then, if you have a favorite item you've been 'eyeing' :), please talk to Beth any time. * Note: Some furniture and other essential/in-use items will only be available for pick up on Sept 19-20, when we're done using them.

  • 9/19 - Last Day of the Wild Eye Pub --- still planning, but here is the outline: LAST DAY of the Wild Eye Pub: Say goodbye! Open house, open mic, last food & drinks by donation, pickup & load out, big hugs! xoxo

But, hey! This is not yet our farewell message. For now, we hope to see you at Wild Eye in the next 44 days. And after that, we'll see you out there, somewhere.

With our love and appreciation, always,

Beth and Dave
