About the event
Duniya is a luring, hypnotic band, pulling listeners into its beautiful rhythms. It's comprised of musicians from Mali, West Africa and California. The band fuses together ancient and modern sounds and instruments, guaranteed to move your body and soul.
Lead Singer Mariam Diakate, and percussionists Moussa Camara and Seydou Dante all hail from Bamako, Mali, all with a deeply rooted mastery of traditional Malian music and dance. Greg Fletcher, formerly of Soul Union, writes and arranges the music and plays a 12 stringed harp/lute from Mali called the Kamelengoni. The band is sometimes joined by other masterful musicians who add unique flavors to the always delicious mix.
Duniya's music is highly rhythmic and extremely danceable, interspersed by moments of slower, deeply profound music.

Plan ahead!
The creek breeze cools off in the evening: layers are suggested, and we have fresh blankets to share.
Sliding scale tickets are $15-25 per person. Tickets *start at $15 for this event, *but, if you can, please consider adding a few bucks to your ticket purchase. This helps us the Pub to feed and pay the band better, and helps us cover the costs of bringing a rich diversity of art, music and cultural events to our community. xo
You can easily make reservations - just seats, or seats and table for dining - while buying your tickets online.
We don't "turn over tables" to serve more diners - you can keep your table for the whole evening. So, the sliding scale ticket fee for helps us pay and feed the nightly performers. Thank you for supporting live artists!
