About the event
It's a blues weekend at Wild Eye, kicking off with Johnny Burgin on tour!
Get lucky with Johnny on Friday the 13th! He'll be joined by Dennis Dove, Mike Phillips and other special guests, to throw down some mighty fine blues on the creekside.
This talented musician is one of the hardest working and well recognized traditional Chicago blues artists today. Since his start in the 90s on Chicago’s West Side with blues singer Taildragger, he has become a leading blues attraction throughout the United States and Europe, performing up to 250 dates a year.
He’s been featured in major media outlets such as The Chicago Tribune, WGN’s After Hours with Rick Kogan, The Illinois Times, and KPFA’s Blues by the Bay. Johnny is a Delmark recording artist with 6 CDs to his credit, including his critically acclaimed release, “Greetings from Greaseland,” about which Chicago Blues Guide said, “plays out like a great set of live blues, as authentic as it will ever get.”
Johnny is also in demand as a session player and has recorded with many blues greats including Billy Boy Arnold, Taildragger, Paul DeLay, Jimmy Burns, Andre Williams, Eddie Taylor Jr., and Jimmy Lee Robinson.
Don't miss your chance to see this fine bluesman on tour!

About Wild Eye Pub: We're a family-friendly event venue, with a restaurant and bar: farm-to-table foods from local & organic sources, a full bar of regional brews, wines & spirits, and nightly entertainment in a comfy 'supper club' style with an easy vibe.
Reservations are helpful!
You can easily make reservations - just seats, or seats and table for dining - when you buy your online tickets. Your table will be ready, with your name on it.
Keep your table for the whole show - we don't 'turn over tables' for more meal sales. So, the sliding ticket fee helps us to better pay and feed the band. Thank you for supporting live artists!
For this event, seating/service starts at 5:30, music at 6:30. We offer table service of food and drinks (quietly) before and during the event. If outside, the creek breeze cools off in the evening: layers are good, and we have blankets to share.
DOGS: Our shows are usually very busy and sometimes loud. Please call ahead, before bringing pets to shows here.
PARKING: Pub has free parking. More parking is nearby at the corner of Mill & McCourtney, a 2-minute walk. Across from Pub, French Ave has parking. Carpooling is encouraged - our neighbors appreciate it.
