Robert Heirendt Album Release Concert

Join Mbira Player/composer Robert Heirendt for a special album release concert! Robert’s new album Name & Form brings together the diverse influences of traditional Zimbabwean trance music with modern improvisational jazz. The evening will feature Robert Heirendt on mbira (Zimbabwean kalimba), Randy McKean on alto sax, Dan Plonsey on alto sax, and Mei Lin Heirendt on violin. 

From Robert: Back in late 2018, while reading Eknath Easwaran’s translation of the Chandogya Upanishad (an ancient Hindu scripture), I started to feel inspired by this idea – looking deeply into one thing, we can gain knowledge and insight into so many other similar things.
